To choose an app development company in Delhi, ask 12 questions covering who owns the code, what the fixed price includes, who you talk to, how often you see a working build, and what happens after launch. Quotes for the same app can differ a lot: Ureka's mobile apps from one codebase start from ₹14,999, a complete app system runs ₹2.5–10 lakh, and other Indian cost guides quote ₹2–25 lakh. The questions below show you what is behind a number.
This guide is for founders and business owners who have two or three quotes in hand, or are about to ask for them. We are an app company ourselves, so we have written the list the way we would want a buyer to test us.
How do you choose an app development company in Delhi?
Use these 12 questions in your first call. The "good answer" column is what a trustworthy company says. The "red flag" column is what should make you pause.
# | Question | Good answer | Red flag |
1 | Who owns the source code, store accounts and data? | You, from day one, in writing | "We hold it until final payment" or "we host it" with no handover |
2 | Is the price fixed and written? | A written quote that only moves if scope moves | A verbal number or "we bill by the hour" with no cap |
3 | What exactly does the price include? | Design, development, testing, store submission, first support period | Design, hosting or store submission listed as extras later |
4 | Who will I talk to every week? | One named person who knows the project | You are passed between sales, a manager and developers |
5 | How often will I see a working version? | A build or link every two weeks | "You will see it at the end" |
6 | Can I speak to a past client? | Yes, or they show live apps you can install | Only screenshots and logos |
7 | Which technology will you use and why? | A reason tied to your budget and users | Whatever they sold the last client |
8 | Will it work on cheap Android phones and slow networks? | They test on mid-range phones and handle patchy 4G | Only tested on the newest iPhone |
9 | How do you handle payments, UPI and GST invoices? | Names the gateway and explains the flow | "Payments are easy, we will see later" |
10 | What happens after launch? | Support period and a clear monthly maintenance quote | Silence, or support only against a new contract |
11 | What will you not build in version one? | A short list of features to postpone | "We can build everything in the first release" |
12 | What if we stop working together? | You can take the code and hire anyone | Your app only runs on their server and their accounts |

Why do ownership and handover matter most?
Ownership decides whether you can leave. If the company registers the Google Play and Apple accounts in its own name, or keeps the code on its own server, switching later means rebuilding from zero.
Google Play charges a one-time US$25 fee and Apple charges US$99 a year. Both shouldbe paid from an account that is in your business's name. Check this in week one, not at launch.
Also ask for the source code to be delivered in a repository you control, with a short document on how to build and release the app. A developer who agrees without a fight is usually confident in their own work.
How much should an app cost, and why do quotes differ so much?
Quotes differ because the scope differs. A simple app with login, a list and a form is a very different job from an app with payments, an admin dashboard, notifications and reports.
What you want | Ureka starting point |
Business website | from ₹4,999 |
Web application | from ₹9,999 |
Mobile app, Android + iOS from one codebase | from ₹14,999 |
Complete app system (app, admin panel, backend) | ₹2.5–10 lakh |
Other Indian cost guides quote ₹2–25 lakh for apps. That is a third-party range, not our price. For a breakdown of what raises or lowers the number, read our app development cost guide for India.
If a quote is far below everyone else's, ask what is missing. If it is far above, ask what you are paying for. Compare quotes line by line, not by total.
Does one codebase for Android and iOS make sense?
For most first versions, yes. One codebase means the developers write the app once and release it on both Android and iOS, which cuts cost and keeps the two versions in step. Flutter, a toolkit from Google, is one common way to do this.
Native apps, written separately for each platform, make sense when you need heavy graphics, deep phone features or the very best performance. Ask the company to justify its choice in terms of your budget and users. You can read about how we build with Flutter on our Flutter app development page.
How can you check an app company's past work?
Ask to install a live app, not look at a slide. Open it on your own phone, try it with weak network and check whether it feels fast.
Shipped work is easier to judge when it is specific. One of our clients in vehicle rental needed online booking where customers upload their documents, plus an admin dashboard for bookings, vehicles, customers and inventory. We built both. A company that has built something close to your idea will describe its decisions in detail, and will also tell you what went wrong the first time.
Ask for a reference you can call. If no past client will take a call, that is information.
Should you pick a company in Delhi or anywhere in India?
Pick the company that answers the 12 questions best. Location helps in one way: you can sit across a table. Ureka is in Sangam Vihar, New Delhi, and meets clients in person across Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad. We also work remotely with clients elsewhere in India and abroad, because most of the work is done on calls and WhatsApp.
A local office also tells you the company can be found if something goes wrong. Check the address, the registered business name and a GST number on the invoice.
What does a good first call look like?
A good first call is short and ends with a written quote. You explain the idea in a few minutes. The company asks who your users are, how you will make money and what the first version must do. Then it sends a fixed written quote.
Our process is one call, then a fixed written quote within 48 hours, with the price moving only if scope moves. After that you get one person on WhatsApp who knows your project, and an installable build or working link every two weeks. If we think you do not need an app, such as a website being enough, we say so.
What should you do before you contact anyone?
1. Write the idea in five lines: who uses it, what they do in it, and how you will earn from it.
2. List five features for version one and five that can wait.
3. Decide your budget range and your launch date.
4. Collect two or three competitor apps you like and one you do not.
5. Send the same brief to every company so the quotes are comparable.
If you want us to read your brief, see our mobile app development company in Delhi page, or learn more about Ureka Technologies.
Frequently asked questions
How much does an app development company in Delhi charge?
At Ureka, a mobile app from one codebase for Android and iOS starts from ₹14,999, and a complete app system runs ₹2.5–10 lakh. Other Indian cost guides quote ₹2–25 lakh for apps. The final number depends on features, payments, admin panel and integrations, so ask for a fixed written quote.
Should I choose a freelancer or an app development company?
A freelancer can be cheaper for a small, clear task, but you depend on one person's availability. A company gives you a team, a process and continuity if one person leaves. Whichever you pick, ask the same 12 questions, especially ownership of code and accounts.
How long does it take to build a mobile app?
It depends on scope, so ask for a timeline in the quote. A working build or link every two weeks lets you see real progress and change direction early. Be careful of any company that promises a full app in a week without seeing your requirements.
What is the first thing to check in an app development quote?
Check what is included and who owns what. The quote should say whether design, testing, store submission and a support period are covered, and it should confirm that you own the code, domain, store accounts and data. A low price that excludes these items is not a low price.
Do I need an app, or is a website enough?
If customers mostly browse, read or book occasionally, a website that works well on phones may be enough, and it costs less. An app earns its place when people use it often, need notifications or need phone features like camera and location. A good developer will tell you which one fits.
