Cross-platform app development cost in India is lower than building two native apps. At Ureka, an Android + iOS app from one codebase starts at ₹14,999, and a complete appsystem with a backend and admin dashboard runs ₹2.5–10 lakh. Other Indian cost guides quote a wider ₹2–25 lakh for apps, which is a third-party range, not our price. Flutter and React Native, the two main cross-platform tools, usually land in the same price band, and native Android plus native iOS means paying for two builds.
This post is for founders and business owners deciding how to build an app. After reading it you will know what each route costs, what stays the same whichever you pick, and which one to ask quotes for.
What is the cross-platform app development cost in India?
It depends on what you call an app. A simple app with a few screens costs very little. An app with user accounts, payments, a database and an admin panel costs much more, because most of the work sits behind the screens.
What you are buying | Price range | Source |
Android + iOS app from one codebase | from ₹14,999 | Ureka |
Complete app system (app, backend, admin dashboard) | ₹2.5–10 lakh | Ureka |
Apps in general, per Indian cost guides | ₹2–25 lakh | Third-party guides, not Ureka |
Google Play developer account | US$25, one time
Apple Developer account | US$99 per year | Apple |
The two store fees are paid to Google and Apple, not to your developer, and the account should be in your name. We set the accounts up in the client’s name so you own them from day one.

Flutter vs React Native vs native: which costs what?
Cross-platform means one codebase (one set of code) produces both the Android and the iOS app. Native means a separate app for each platform, written in the language that platform prefers: Kotlin for Android and Swift for iOS.
Flutter | React Native | Native (Android + iOS)
Codebases to build | 1 | 1 | 2 |
Typical cost position | Lower | Lower | Highest, you pay for two builds |
Made by | Meta | Google and Apple
Look and feel | Same on both phones, drawn by Flutter itself | Uses each phone’s own buttons and controls | Best match for each phone |
Speed on mid- range Android | Good | Good | Best |
Developer availability in India | Strong | Strong | Strong, but you need two skill sets |
Fits when | One brand look, quick launch, small team | Team already knows JavaScript or React | Heavy camera, Bluetooth, games, deep OS features |
Ureka price | from ₹14,999 (Android + iOS from one codebase) | [CONFIRM: does Ureka build in React Native, and at what price] | [CONFIRM: native price from Ureka] |

What is the difference between Flutter and React Native?
Flutter draws every button and screen itself, so the app looks the same on a budget Android phone and an iPhone. React Native hands the drawing to the phone’s own controls, so buttons look native to each phone.
Both are mature. Both let one team ship both apps. For most business apps, such asbooking, catalogues, delivery tracking, and customer portals, a user cannot tell thedifference.
The practical difference is the team. Flutter uses a language called Dart. React Native uses JavaScript, which many web developers already know. If your website is built in React and the same developers will build the app, React Native can save time. If you are hiring an agency for the whole thing, the choice matters less than their track record.
We build Android and iOS apps from one codebase with Flutter app development, and we pick the tool by the job and tell you if another one fits better.
When is native Android and iOS worth the extra cost?
Native is worth it when the app depends on the phone’s hardware or must squeeze out every bit of speed. Examples: a camera app with live filters, an app that talks to Bluetooth devices all day, a 3D game, or an app that runs in the background for hours.
It is also worth it if you have already decided to launch only on one platform. A native Android app only, for example, is one build, not two, and the price gap with cross-platform shrinks.
For a booking app, a marketplace, a delivery app, a learning app or an internal staff app, native rarely pays back. You are paying for two codebases, two sets of bug fixes and two release cycles, every time you change something.
What costs extra whichever framework you choose?
The framework changes the app screens. It does not change the work behind them. These items cost the same in Flutter, React Native or native:
Backend and database: where user data, bookings and orders live. This is often the largest share of the cost.
Admin dashboard: the web panel where you manage users, bookings and content.
Payments: UPI and cards through a gateway such as Razorpay, plus GST-ready invoices.
Notifications: push alerts and WhatsApp or SMS messages, which carry per-message fees from the provider.
Maintenance: Android and iOS update every year, and your app needs updates to keep working.
Store fees: US$25 once for Google Play and US$99 per year for Apple.
When you compare quotes, ask each agency to list these separately. A very low price often leaves out the backend and the dashboard.
What does a real cross-platform build look like?
We built EasyScooter, an online booking system for a scooter rental business in Dehradun. Customers book and upload documents online, and the owner runs bookings, vehicles, customers and inventory from an admin dashboard. The screens are only one part of that job. The booking logic and the dashboard are a large part.
We also built MyTutorMatch, a marketplace where tutors list profiles and students find and contact them. Marketplaces follow the same pattern: a simple app on top, and profiles, search and contact handling underneath.
Both examples are why we quote the whole system, not just the screens. One written quote covers the app, backend and dashboard, and the price only moves if the scope does.
Which should an Indian founder choose?
Use this short test.
1. Launching in India first, budget under a few lakh: choose cross-platform. Most of your users are on Android, often on mid-range phones with patchy networks, so test on those phones.
2. Need both Android and iOS at launch: cross-platform again. One codebase means one set of fixes.
3. Your developers already know React: ask for a React Native quote too.
4. Heavy hardware or graphics: go native for that platform.
5. Not sure users will pay: build a small first version. If it is a simple idea, a mobile-friendly website, from ₹4,999, may be enough to test demand before you build an app.
Whichever you choose, insist on owning the code, the Google Play and Apple accounts, and your data. If an agency holds them, switching later gets expensive.
If your app will include AI, such as a chat assistant or reading documents, plan it as a separate step. Our AI and machine learning development work starts with a fixed-price pilot of about 4 weeks on your own data, so you know it works before it goes into the app.
To discuss your idea, see our mobile app development company in Delhi page, or message us directly.

FAQ
How much does it cost to build an Android and iOS app in India?
At Ureka, an Android + iOS app from one codebase starts at ₹14,999, and a complete app system with a backend and admin dashboard runs ₹2.5–10 lakh. Other Indian cost guides quote ₹2–25 lakh for apps in general. The final number depends on features, payments, the admin panel and how much sits behind the screens.
Is Flutter cheaper than React Native in India?
Usually they sit in the same price band, because both build Android and iOS from one codebase. The difference is the team: Flutter uses Dart, React Native uses JavaScript. If your developers already know React, React Native can save time. If you hire an agency for the whole job, their track record matters more than the tool.
Is native app development worth it for a startup?
Rarely at the start. Native means two separate apps, two sets of bug fixes and two release cycles, so you pay roughly for two builds. It makes sense for hardware-heavy apps, such as live camera filters, constant Bluetooth use or 3D games. For booking, marketplace, delivery or learning apps, cross-platform usually costs less and ships sooner.
How much do Google Play and Apple developer accounts cost?
A Google Play developer account costs US$25 as a one-time fee. An Apple Developer account costs US$99 per year. Both are paid to the store, not to your developer. Open the accounts in your own name so that you own the app listing, reviews and release control, even if you change developers later.
Should my first app be Android only?
Android only is one build, so it costs less than native for both platforms, and many users in India are on Android phones. But if your customers are mostly on iPhones, you would miss them. Cross-platform removes the choice, because one codebase gives you both apps for one build.
Who should own the app code and the store accounts?
You should. Ask for the source code, the Google Play and Apple accounts, the domain and the data to be in your name from day one. At Ureka the client owns the code, domain, store accounts and data. If an agency holds them, moving to another developer later becomes slow and expensive.
